Youth Summit
August 13, 2012 The Youth Summit is a FREE day-long series of developmental workshops, inspiring guest speakers, and a one-stop resource fair for teens! Past guest speakers have included John Singleton who’s critically acclaimed and popular films include Boyz N the Hood and 2 Fast 2 Furious, as well as legendary Dogtown and Z-Boy skateboarder Denis Martinez, and poet, performer, librettist and educator Douglas Kearney. Teen Legacy AwardThe Teen Legacy Award was created by teens for teens to highlight the work and contributions that youth make throughout their communities. This award will be presented to four youth during the Youth Summit August 13, 2012.
